Most practitioners dread discovery calls. They feel awkward, salesy, and uncomfortable because practitioners trained to deliver care, not to pitch it. So either the call turns into a clinical lecture where you overwhelm the prospect with everything you know, or it becomes a stiff, scripted conversation where neither of you feels like a real human being showed up.
The problem is not you. The problem is how you are thinking about the call. A discovery call is not a sales opportunity, it's a service opportunity. It is likely the first time this person has had a real conversation with a clinician who actually wants to understand the full picture of what they are going through. For many of them, it is the first time someone has listened long enough for them to feel heard.
That changes everything about how the call should feel. When you stop trying to convince someone to become your patient and start focusing on understanding their situation, reflecting their experience back to them, and helping them see that a different kind of care exists, something shifts. Not just for them, but for you. The nervousness fades and the conversation can flow. And the right people enroll because they felt something on that call they have not felt anywhere else: seen, understood, and genuinely cared for.

Most discovery call training focuses on what to say. Ours starts with how to think. Because the words do not land if the energy behind them is wrong. If you walk into a call trying to close someone, they will feel it. If you walk in trying to serve someone, they will feel that too.
I train practitioners on a mindset framework built around seven core principles that shift the entire dynamic of the call. The foundation is simple: lead with empathy over persuasion, ask instead of tell, trust in the value of what you offer, and stay focused on the person in front of you rather than the outcome you want. When a practitioner internalizes these principles, the discovery call stops being something they endure and starts being one of the most powerful tools in their practice.
This is not about being passive or hoping the prospect figures it out on their own. It is about creating the conditions for a subtle but real mindset shift — the moment when someone who has been stuck in the conventional model for years begins to see that their symptoms are not inevitable, that deeper answers exist, and that investing in their health is not a luxury but a necessity. That shift does not happen through a pitch. It happens through presence, genuine curiosity, and a conversation that feels completely different from anything they have experienced in a medical setting.

Mindset alone is not enough. You also need a structure that keeps the call focused, productive, and comfortable for both of you. I train practitioners on a six-step discovery call framework that moves the conversation from introduction through to a clear next step, without ever feeling scripted or pressured.
The framework covers how to open the call and set expectations so both of you feel grounded. How to create space for the prospect to share what they are going through and how to listen for the things that matter most, which are not always the clinical details but the goals, fears, and frustrations underneath them. How to make targeted recommendations that connect directly to what they just told you, so your expertise feels personal rather than generic. And how to present your program and handle the questions that inevitably come up such as cost, insurance, commitment, and whether this will actually be different from everything else they have tried, with calm confidence instead of defensiveness.
The goal is a call where the prospect feels heard, educated, and clear on what the next step looks like, without feeling pressured into a decision or overwhelmed by information. They should walk away genuinely ready to move forward, or genuinely clear that now is not the right time, which is equally valuable to know.
The Discovery Call Mastery Accelerator is a comprehensive training program that gives you everything you need to show up to discovery calls with confidence, clarity, and a framework you can use immediately. The program includes a five-module online course covering offer positioning, call logistics, money mindset, the full six-step discovery call framework with scripts, and objection handling. You also get weekly live group coaching sessions for Q&A and real-time feedback, plus a one-on-one mock discovery call session with Jennifer where you practice the call, get direct feedback, and practice again, so you are not just learning the framework, you are building the muscle memory.
Each participant also receives a one-on-one strategy session to review your offer and care delivery methodology, so you walk into every call knowing exactly how to present your program with conviction.
If you prefer to start with private one-on-one training rather than the full accelerator, reach out and we can discuss what makes the most sense for where you are right now.
If you have ever finished a discovery call and known the person needed your help but could not figure out why they did not sign up or if you avoid discovery calls altogether because they make you feel like a salesperson instead of a clinician, this training will change how you show up for every conversation.
